Vol. 13 No. 1 (2026): Simbiótica
In addition to the open-topic articles, this issue features the dossier “Applied Social Research: practices, challenges, and perspectives", organized by Eduardo Georjão Fernandes (UnB), Ivone dos Passos Maio (FURG), and Bruna Rossi Koerich (UFRGS). The dossier brings together reflections on Applied Social Research, highlighting its importance for the development of diagnoses, the identification of problems, and the formulation of solutions aimed at public policy management, decision-making, and social intervention. By proposing a debate on its theoretical, epistemological, and methodological foundations, the initiative seeks to discuss the potential, limits, ethical challenges, and possibilities for innovation of this approach within the field of the social sciences.
